Objectives
The general objective of the program is to transmit the theoretical bases and the applied knowledge necessary to use modern, integrated, computer-aided design methods, in the light of future developments towards the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0).
The program is mainly dedicated to engineers in the fields of research, design and use of mechanical devices, equipment and installations.
The future graduates should be able to have a broad vision and carry out procedures for the design, optimization and development of new technical systems, adapted to advanced technologies in the mechanical engineering field. Due to the special dynamics of the targeted field, the aim is to correlate the theoretical aspects with examples aiming at the latest technological trends, such as additive manufacturing technologies (3D printing).
Perspectives
The first option of the graduates of the program is to continue their studies with a doctoral programme in Mechanical Engineering. In each of the last years, 2-3 master's degree graduates have opted for a doctorate under the guidance of one of the 5 doctoral supervisors who teach in this program.
Another option is to be in a research position in one of the national institutes specialized in the field (i.e. INCAS, ACTTM, COMOTI).
The use of design, modeling and simulation skills can be done by holding the position of design engineer or product development manager in one of the many design centers (offices) operating in the country (i.e. Renault Technologie Roumanie, Segula Technologies, AKKA Technologies, Expleo Group, Bertrandt Engineering Technologies, EXCENT Defi).
Research
From the first semester, students choose an advanced study subject that involves design and research activities, individually or in teams of two students, guided by a teacher.
These activities, which represent about 30% of the total activities, are completed by research reports, presented in each of the first three semesters. The dissertation activities for the completion of the studies are carried out in the 4th semester and integrate the previous semestrial research reports.
